Grace That Sets Us Free

DAY NINE

Let It Be

At the start of this Novena journey, you named one knot and brought it to prayer. Since then, you have brought it into the light, been honest about what it stirs in you, looked beneath the surface, asked Jesus for what you need, and slowly learned to let go. Perhaps something has changed. Perhaps it has not. Either way, today is not about finding the perfect ending. It is about deciding where you will place your trust.

At the Annunciation, Mary was asked to trust God with a future she could not see. She did not have all the answers. She simply said yes. Her words became an act of faith: “Let it be done to me according to your word.” We can make that prayer our own. Not because we know what will happen, but because we know who we are entrusting ourselves to. Today, place your knot, and yourself, in God’s hands. Let it be.

BEHOLD, I AM THE HANDMAID OF THE LORD.
MAY IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.
LUKE 1:38

Mary’s yes was not a promise that everything would be easy. It was a decision to trust God with her life, even without knowing the whole story.

YOUR INVITATION

Return to the knot you named at the start of this Novena experience.

Ask yourself: What would it mean for me to trust Jesus with this, whatever comes next?

You might still hope for a particular outcome. You might still pray for things to change. Trust does not mean giving up those hopes. Today, simply place both your knot and yourself into God’s hands.

Then pray Mary’s words slowly: May it be done to me according to your word.

PRAYING WITH MARY

Mary, help me say yes to God as you did. I may not know what lies ahead, and this knot may not unfold as I hope. But I choose to trust Jesus with my life. When I cannot find the words, let yours become my prayer: “May it be done to me according to your word.”

Mary, Untier of Knots, pray for us.

—

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
