Grace That Sets Us Free
DAY ONE
Name Your Knot
There are things in our lives that feel tangled. A relationship we do not know how to repair. A decision we cannot seem to make. Something from the past we wish we could change. A worry about someone we love. Perhaps you have carried yours for a long time.
Today, you do not need to solve it. You do not need to know what God might do with it. Simply bring it into the light of prayer. Jesus already knows what you are carrying, and He invites you to come to Him with it. Mary knows what it is to trust God with something she cannot fully understand. She stands beside us as we begin, helping us to place our lives into the hands of her Son. So today, begin simply. Name your knot.
COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO LABOR
AND ARE BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.
MATTHEW 11:28
Jesus does not ask us to arrive with everything sorted out. We can come as we are, carrying whatever feels too heavy to carry alone.
YOUR INVITATION
Choose one situation that you would like to bring to Jesus throughout these nine days. It might be something in your family, your work, your relationships, your past, or simply something you are carrying quietly in your heart.
Write it down in a few words. Do not try to explain it. Do not try to solve it. Just name it.
Then, when you are ready, say: Jesus, I bring this to you. Keep your intention somewhere you can return to each day.
PRAYING WITH MARY
Mary, help me to place my knot before Jesus without needing to have all the answers. You know what it is to trust God with something you cannot fully understand. Teach me to bring this burden to Jesus and to remain close to him, whatever comes next.
Mary, Untier of Knots, pray for us.
—
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
WISDOM FROM THE CHURCH
Have patience with all things, but, first of all with yourself.
