Novena | Day Eight

Daily Opening Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit.
Shape us in love that seeks the good of all,
in joy that does not fade amid uncertainty,
and in peace that gives clarity to our listening and discernment.

Teach us patience in our shared journey together,
kindness in our words,
and goodness in the choices set before us.

Ground us in faithfulness to the way of Jesus,
attune us to gentleness in our relationships with others,
and steady us with self-control when we are tempted to rush.

Draw us into a deeper conversion of heart,
renewing what has grown weary,
reorientating what has lost its way,
and opening us again to the life you are bringing forth.
Amen.

A People of Hope

In the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church sees the fulfilment of God’s promise and a sign of the hope prepared for all who follow Christ. Mary’s life was marked by humble trust in God’s word and a readiness to cooperate with his plan. Her Assumption reminds us that God’s grace is at work in human lives, drawing all things towards his Kingdom.

Mary’s song of praise proclaims a God who remembers his promises and remains faithful through every generation. Her life shows that renewal we desire is not of our own achievement, but God’s work in those who are open to him. As we prepare for the Archdiocesan Assembly, her witness encourages us to trust not in our own plans, but in the God who guides his Church with wisdom and love.

The Almighty has done great things for me,

Intention

We ask for hearts filled with Christian hope and confidence in God’s promises. Through the intercession of Mary, Help of Christians, may we trust in God’s faithfulness, remain open to the Spirit’s guidance, and walk forward together in faith.
